Street Woman Fighter is a South Korean TV dance competition show, where eight crews from various backgrounds and disciplines take part in missions and challenges to win a cash prize. These missions range from dance battles, to K-Pop choreographies, mega-crew missions, and self-made compositions. As a dancer I had strong interest in this show and its sequel that came out 2023, Street Woman Fighter 2 (SWF2). This season was significant because it introduced two fully foreign crews into the programme: Tsubakill, a Japanese dance crew; and Jam Republic, a Western crew consisting of American, Australian and New Zealander members.
Their second mission was a K-Pop choreography mission, where the crews go head-to-head to create dances to two songs from the big four K-Pop companies: SM, YG, JYP and HYBE. These videos were released ahead of the first episode of SWF2 broadcasting, and whilst the performance is happening, there are animations in the background with the name of the crew. I noticed how in each of the crews' pieces, the background animations were different, so I set out to try and recreate each one to the best of my ability. All for a bit of challenge!
Below is the full catalogue of each animations, grouped by the company the two groups choreographed to. While some are probably not the best they could be, I'm very proud with the rest of them, and it was a great learning experience!
